The Water Cycle
I think we all learn about the water cycle at school, right? Lots of fancy words:
Evaporation - Condensation - Precipitation
Phuket right now is a great place to see this in action. As the monsoon winds have dropped, most days are calm. Mornings start clear and fresh, but as the day heats up, moisture from the land and sea evaporates and starts to condense into what we call "clouds". When the clouds get too dense, the precipitation can begin, known to you and me as "rain". This is currently accompanied by plenty of thunder and lightning and it's happening every evening. Then the skies clear overnight and you have another beautiful day.
Today is another lovely sunny day, but I fully expect tonight to be thundery, which may again hamper my efforts to go out and take photos of the vegetarian festival!
