A splash of rain
I am sure it's my imagination, but it sometimes seems to me that Sunday (when I am not working) is statistically the wettest day of the week. The whole of last week had been hot, sunny, not a drop of precipitation; I was looking forward to a beautiful Sunday, take the kids to the beach...and what do we get? Grey skies. And just as we thought "Let's go anyway, it might get better" the rain started. Not torrential, but certainly not beach weather! So we went shopping instead.
Later on Sunday things looked brighter, so we went off for a drive, heading for Surin beach. About 5 minutes after we left the house, the kids were sleeping in the car! We just took a drive over the hill to Patong, along the twisty road to Kamala, then to Surin and back via the Heroine's Monument and the main road.
Monday 19th was also a bit grey, but today was back to normal. Clear blue skies. Just what the doctor ordered.
Oh, by the way, Happy New Year! Sunday was Chinese New Year. We did nothing special save for a little BBQ at a friend's house. It is now the Year of the Pig or Boar depending who you ask.
